How does work?

You are welcome to read everything I have posted: new lessons, newsletter, testimonials, etc. You can easily schedule a lesson (15-minute free lesson OR 1-hour lesson OR 2-hour lesson). You will get an invoice for any regular lesson. Please pay before the lesson time. If you have any specific lessons that you need to review with me, just let me know. If you have questions, please email or text or call me.

What will my lesson be about?

  • Your lesson will be about one or more of these:
  • Your specific problem that you need help with.
  • Business English for your specific occupation and work environment.
  • Idioms, Verb Tenses or Pronunciation

For new students who need help in all areas of English, you can write 4 short grammar quizzes. We will know what grammar lessons you need.

How do I join a lesson on Zoom?

This is what you need:

  • a computer with a camera, microphone and speakers.
  • a quiet place to work with a lot of light.

At least 2 hours before your lesson time, download Zoom.
Then, restart your computer including updates. At your lesson time, click on this link:

How does Zoom work?

Please do not click on the lesson link until your exact lesson time or after. When you click on the link, your computer will take about 2 minutes to turn on the camera. You will be able to see and hear me and I will be able to see and hear you. We can share our screens with each other. You can upload a document or email a document to me.

How long is a lesson?

Lesson times:

  • Free 1st lesson = 15 minutes
  • English lesson = 60 minutes
  • Test preparation lesson = 120 minutes

These are my usual lesson times. If you would like a longer or shorter lesson, let’s talk about it. I want to give you what you need.

What is a lesson like?

Every lesson begins with “hello” and a short casual conversation. Just relax and enjoy. This is a fun, interesting experience. You can talk about any questions or problems that you have. Lessons are always student-centered. We do not progress until the student understands the material just covered.

I have special problems. Can you help me?

Absolutely. Every student has special problems. I want to know what your problems. What is important for you? Business English? Writing? Listening? Idioms?

What skills will we work on?

We will work on the skills you need to work on. Are you preparing for a speech? Are you writing an important paper? Do you need to better understand what you read? These are the 4 skills we can work on: listening, reading, talking, writing. We can work on your grammar or your general English use for your job or any other specific problem you have.

Absolutely. Sign up in the calendar for a 15-minute free meeting. Or send me an email so we can schedule a phone conversation. I am happy to answer your questions!

How do I know you can help me?

Our lesson times together are very important for your success. During that time, we need to work on your most difficult problems with the lessons. When we are not in a lesson, you will have homework and I will give you additional strategies for improving your skills. Here is what needs to happen so that I can help you:

  • Meet with me for every scheduled lesson. You set the schedule so follow it.
  • Follow my instructions for improving your skills. It’s not all about our time together.
  • Practice, practice, practice

How much do you charge for each lesson?

Every student is different from every other student. Your lesson fee is specific for you. There is no set charge for every student.

When do I pay for a lesson?

After you add a lesson to the calendar, you will get an invoice from me within 24 hours (or less for urgent lessons). For me to dedicate that lesson time for you instead of another student you need to make a payment before the lesson. If you cancel a scheduled lesson 24 hours before the lesson time, you will receive a full refund.

How do I pay for a lesson?

We use these payment tools: PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Google Pay
If you have a preference, please let me know. If you don’t have a preference, you will receive a PayPal invoice.
